The A Capella Octet's Debut Performance

Hey peeps!

How was your experience during the Sec 1 CCA Day Performance? :)

I think you guys did a good job, considering that you had only practised it in the morning prior to the performance. :) Good one, choir!

For those who are disappointed with it would probably learn that to perfect a performance, hardship (which means MORE PRACTICE!) and endurance are definitely the two most important ingredients for a applausing-winning show.

Having said that, I would like to commend on our A Capella Boys' efforts and attitude on their debut performance. :)

The octet (a word to describe a group of 8 peeps) had been practising hard with Mr Pang since the end of Dec 2009 and it has not been an easy journey for them.

First of all, the 8 have to overcome the fear of singing without music accompaniment.
Secondly, the 8 have to learn to work with one another and build up the team spirit.
Next, the 8 have to learn the new song and the singing techniques within a short period of time.
And last but not the least, the 8 have to forgo their holidays just to help out with the Choir in establishing yet another milestone!

With these, I, on behalf of the YI Choir, would like to thank the A Capella team for putting up a wonderful performance on Sec 1 CCA Day. You guys had done well, despite the anxiety and inconducive singing environment. And i really think the sound system did unjustice to you guys. hehe! :P

On the ending note, thank you Choir for singing well on our FIRST PERFORMANCE FOR THE YEAR 2o10!!! :D More performances and great memories to come..!

Cheers,
ms ang

It's 2010~!!!!!

Hi peeps!

My warmest greetings and best wishes for 2010!!!! :D

A saying goes, "The good times of today are the sad thoughts for tomorrow". Hope u have had a wonderful holidays and are probably quite reluctant to get ready for the first day of school. hahaha!

Before the term starts (2 more days to go!!), I think it is timely for all of us to take stock of how we have been doing, as a Choir and as an individual, in the year 2009. And as we reflect on how the old year was like, let's resolve to do better in 2010. :)

As I look back, the year 2009 indeed has been an exhilarating year for the Choir. :) First of all, we worked hard and clinched a Silver Award at the SYF (let's yeah again at our proudest moment!). That was followed by many many indoor and outdoor performances. hahaha! Not forgetting the moments when we staged performances on Drama Night and Combine School Choir Concert at Jubilee Hall.

I can't help smiling to myself as I pored over these pages of memories. Those camaraderie forged, friendships made and times when we struggled and rejoiced together are so precious to me!!!

So, are good thoughts of yesterday really sad moments of tomorrow??

Nope! I beg to differ. Instead, I believe these good memories will catapult the choir to a GREATER HEIGHT with more great experiences awaiting, more success to taste and more wonderful memories to keep!!!

Lastly, while we had tasted so much success last year, let's not forget how we had worked hard to reap what we had sown. The journey is often as rewarding as the destination, despite the many obstacles and struggles along the way.

So, let's keep going, keep on improving!!!

From our hearts to yours, here's to a brilliant 2010~!!!

Cheers,
~ms ang <3

ps: please start saving for the trip hor...

Miss You guys!!

Hello My Beloved Choir members! :)

How are you guys?? I have been missing you guys alot! Do you guys miss me too?? hahaha... jkjk. :p

This holiday is making me rot and lazy.. Whenever i sing, i will always remember you guys(Team mates) and of course Ms Khor + 3 wonderful teachers-in-charge.

I miss the time where all of us stand together as a team to go for those past performances... Maybe to you guys, those performances didn't really mean anything... However, to me, it means a lot.. I guess you guys will know why it mean to me a lot.. :)

Anyway, do take good care of yourselves during this long holiday. Drink more water for your own good yea?^^ See you soon. :)

Loves,
MeiTing^^

Poster boys and girls :)

Many photos were taken and selected for the posters but due to a budget constraint, we have selected these three. :)
A lot of time and efforts have been put in to produce the above pictures. And the peeps behind the fantastic work are:
  • Mr Ken Jin – for being such a fun-loving and patient photographer
  • Ms Mon – we just love the way she did the make-up, don't we? :)
  • Mr Marcus Ho (Art teacher) – Mr Ho met up with the Choir teachers many times to talk through the concepts and of course, the sessions were followed by a series of editing...and editing... and editing. It is definitely not an easy job! *applause!!*
  • Our student models - you know who they are! :P
