Many thanks to the leaders (namely, Shahir, Meiting, Amanda, Joel, etc) who go the extra miles to ensure that most of us know the NDP dance steps by heart.

Yea, it's tiring...but hang in there, dearies! It will just get better! :D

To those who turned up for the refresher course this afternoon,
once again, thanks so much for your cooperation, time and patience! Really appreciate that. :)

For the Sec 3s...

Dearest Sec 3s,

this will be rather sentimental entry...so, bear with the words, yea? :)

What a journey we have been together... I can still vividly remember the times when I gotta chase after some of you for not attending the PAP back in early 2008. Back then, some of you displayed lukewarm feelings toward Choir (and I am not blaming you)...

Gone were the days when we thought coming together to sing "Let's Celebrate Life" in sync was our best achievement. We cheered crazily at our efforts then.

Gone were the moments when we thought staying back twice a week to practise for "You Raised Me Up" were a big feat...

You guys have truly come a long way... pioneering the spirit of the YI CHOIR. Yea man, YOU ARE THE PIONEERS!!! Can you imagine that? *Give yourself a few seconds to allow that thought to really sink in deep...*Many many years down the road of life, as you think back, I'd bet it will be one of the sweetest memories one can ever have... :)

I think it's precisely that you are the Pioneers, you get to taste the whole process of getting started. It hadn't been easy... And I must say that without you guys, the YI CHOIR history wouldn't be so amazingly colourful...!

Often, mr wong and i would wonder how would the YI CHOIR be like once you people leave us? Would we still get a strong bunch of singers, just like you? Would we be able to produce such great voice, which you Sec 3s have been giving..? Would we have such a wonderful, fun-loving and sensible batch again..?

*tears swelling in the eyes*

Perhaps the next batch of Sec 1s would be better. Nobody knows. But one thing for sure,
NO ONE CAN REPLACE YOU, THE PIONEERS..! Not even the most vocally powerful batch...

You guys are simply fantastic..!! Thank you for bringing so much joy to us... thank you for blessing us with the most splendid SYF experience... thank you for bearing with us and holding on to us despite all the mishappenings...

Most importantly, thank you for BELIEVING & STAYING IN THE YI CHOIR...

Lastly, the NDP '09 would probably be the last major project the Sec 3s have with the Choir. I pray that it will be a tremendously enjoyable and unforgettable experience for all of you. May you cherish it and forge meaningful friendships in the midst of the 'drudgery'. hee!

Good worldly things dun last. May the year 2008 be the most memorable one for you. Hold on whilst it lasts... :)

ATTITUDE needed!

We are referring to the coming series of NDP rehearsals.

Yes, a POSITIVE attitude is needed from all of you. That means -

• NO COMPLAINTS (despite the long and tiresome training sessions)
• 100% Attendance (unless you are certified to be medically sick)
• Good behaviour (display the YI spirit!)
• GREAT TEAM SPIRIT! (remember how we overcame the SYF..? Please display the same spirit!)

Pardon our naggings, but we just gotta say that it's not a every-year opportunity for our school to be involved in NDP.

Do cherish this once-in-the-life (yea, for most of us!!) chance to be celebrating the nation's birthday with thousands of people. It will be a great fun! (Just imagine singing, dancing and watching the awesome fireworks with your schoolmates and friends from other schools!) Gosh! It will be an unforgettable experience! :D

Lastly, do your part (esp the leaders!!!) by informing all your 'blur' friends about the NDP schedule.

• Attendance is compulsory.
• Please make sure that you bring water for your own consumption for all the rehearsals.
• Punctuality must be observed. We will NOT wait for late-comers. The bus will leave on time.
• Internal (held in YISS) rehearsals may be held - for the participants who are still unsure of the dance steps. Further notices will be posted.

I must say that you guys have done a good job - maintaining the order, being efficient at getting the real stuff done, cooperative and...wow! GREAT TEAM SPIRIT!

What is more heartening is that the other Sec 3s also offered their service! I see a strong team of Sec 3s willing to spend time and efforts for one another... - something I have not expected. I guess I have underestimated you guys... hee! Time for more 'stretch-tasks'...! :D Indeed, you guys do possess a lot more of leadership qualities! See? You carried out the session without any assistance from the teachers! WELL DONE!

Just keep believing in yourself and yes, offering your service helps to unearth the leadership potential you have!

NDP Costume-Fitting Session #1

Hi to all NDP participants! :)

Yea, it's definitely a GREAT HONOR and PRIVILEGE to be involved in 2009 NDP.

Our first costume-fitting session will be this coming TUESDAY! (12 may)

Venue: AVA
Time: 12nn to 1.30pm

I understand that it is the midst of the MYE, and many of you would like to go home early after the Tue paper to revise for the next paper.

However, really seek your understanding and cooperation again. The NDP i/c from the Army can only do it this Tuesday.

To ease the flow and quicken the whole procedure, I am going to rope in many leaders to help out. The list and procedure would be issued on the Tuesday Morning Assembly.

Leaders, please take note. You are on call for service! :P
