Westmall performance 2009

Dear choir,

This is the video of the performance I got from youtube. I think one of your friends uploaded this video which is filmed using a handphone. The quality is not very good but not to worry, I will be getting the edited version soon from the IT Club. In the meantime, enjoy this video first

Westmall

Dear choir,

Watching you people mature within this one year is one of the greatest joy in life. Since the days of "Let's Celebrate life", " You raise me up" where you people sing in unison, to "White horses" and the "Phantom of the opera", you people have improved by leaps and bounds. Seeing you people behaving so professionally and beaming with pride while waiting to perform in Westmall really makes me realised that we have really come a long way.

I guess overcoming all the difficulties and having a hard time during this journey makes it more memorable for each and everyone of us. I am very sure all of you will have fond memories of YI Choir even when you people are in University or polytechnic next time.

Really hope that all of you can make it for the Hongkong trip in March 2010. Do start saving now as it will be something like a graduation trip for the present secondary 3 students. Can't wait to go Disneyland with you people and I must bring you people to try the roast goose (My personal favourite), roast pigeon and all the exciting food in Hongkong.

With regards,
Mr Alan Wong

West Mall Performance

Hello choir, it been a great joy to perform for others right?? Especially to those shoppers.
It seems that todays choir had grown up. It was no longer the last time immature choir anymore. Some of my ex-choir friends told me this choir is great! & A Talented Choir! Indeed is true!
Maybe some of the choir members not up on stage due to sick.. but i know they are there to JY
for us. I apperciate it. And Get well soon alright? hahas.
Do u know? Mr chew can heard us sang loudly and clearly from the 4th floor of west mall! I'm really shocked! It a shopping mall... i dun expect that everyone can heard it, but to my susprise, Choir did it. U guys sang pretty well u know? The first song, u guys sang to the public the first time, yet it was well sang. The other 2 songs also great! It really a great joy singing on stage.
There is 1 sentance i remember, '' Willing to take the tough practises and trainings, just to earn 5mins on stage to show case our hard works.'' Remember, our hard works can't go to waste. We continue to improve! Alright?
Stay healthy and drink lots of water. I'm looking forward to the next friday performance at SIM.
Do Take Care yourself. Becuase i care for all of you.
I will see you guys on next thurday training. Loveya.^^
Loves,
MeiTing^^

Slot B - report at Science SLC at 11.45am

For more info, please refer to the letter issued to all of you.

Westmall Performance - some takeaways

Let's start with the POSITIVE points:
  1. Behaviour - VERY GOOD! Definitely improved with more outdoor performances. All of you had been very well-behaved in the public and I must say that it has been a blessed time for the teachers 'taking care' of you. Thank you for not creating trouble for us as we (the teachers) were kept busy with the technical and logistical issues.
  2. Expression - VERY GOOD! Wow! Aren't we not impressed by your singing impression!? I must say that most of you (>90%) really open your mouths big and gosh! the expressions are simply priceless!! You display good musicianship! You all seem to be enjoying yourselves! GOOD JOB!
  3. Preparedness - GOOD! All of you display readiness and really live up to much of our expectations. Keep it up!

Some areas for improvements:
  • Hair - please bear in mind the standards set (recall SYF). Only black hair accessories are allowed.
  • Undergarments (for gals) - No halter-neck or sports bra, please!! :(
  • Shoes - only black (pure black!! totally black) cover-up shoes are allowed.

Last but not least, do remember that we bear the name "YI CHOIR" and it's our duty to keep up to the standards. There is only a way to go - to be better!

GOOD JOB!!!

Yoz peeps!

It's been a while since I last posted an entry... Have been very busy and we all know why. hee! :)

YEAH!

I must say the Westmall Performance has been a great one!!! The teachers were there at the ground with the crowd and guess what? We heard so much positive and encouraging feedback about u!

In fact, the so much that she Westmall management enjoys our CHOIR performance that she especially requests for the CHOIR to put up a Xmas Caroling this Dec! :)

Anyway, here are a few of the many positive comments overheard. hee! :D

Passerby #1 to her friend: "Wow! The boys are actually quite good!"
(okie, tenors and basses...be humble!)

Passerby #2: *claps his hands and listens attentively to the voices*

Passerby #3: "what school is this, huh? Quite a good choir."

Okie, the list can go on as the Choir teachers 'racqeed' the crowd. :)

Of course, some of you may think the encouragement came mainly from our supporters - mainly the students and even the parents of our Choir members.

Well, I seriously believe that the praises are contagious and the applause are GENUINE!

The YI CHOIR deserves a huge round of applause for putting up such a wonderful performance!! :D Indeed, you guys have grown more 'matured' in musically sense and yes, we sure look forward to a better performance at the SIM.

Keep it up, CHOIR! :D

~Very proud of the YI CHOIR,
