What an experience! Fancy cooking for the a big group of hungry kids in the Home Ec. Room! :p
Surely it may not have been a super day for some of us. Many of us might have expected a more exciting time with the games, or a more fun moment at Gan Eng Seng.
But hey, I think the
REAL fun really comes from the camaraderie we have forged together as a team! :D
For me, the most unforgettable moment has to be in the kitchen... hehe!
Special thanks to:
My Kitchen Assistants and Chefs -- Beautiful and Capable Vivian, who seems to specialise in frying chicken cutlets...
- Quiet and Steady Yoon Yi, who had all the hotdogs and garlic toasted nicely!
- Cutest and Helpful Isman, who simply enjoyed serving the cooked food.
- The Hungry Haziq, who was the speediest at peeling the crab meat!
- One-handed Shin Chen, who really knows the way to frying meat...!
- Diligent and Careful Junwen, who readily prepared all the materials we needed.
- Ever-ready Huifen, who is every chef's best helper!
My 'Night-Duty Gals', who really put all the boys (esp the leaders!) to shame... -
- Kaiyi, who was concerned with the cleanliness (or rather, the mess we left...)
- Xena, who surprises me with her eagerness to help out with the mess :)
- Meiyun, who just helped out quietly, without grumbles.
- Amanda, who cleared the rubbish and complained about the guys! hahah :P
- Huiyan, who dutifully helped out without complaints.
- Chin Xuan, who is only Sec 1, yet displayed so much sense of responsibility.
The FEW GOOD GUYS who stayed back late to clear the mess... -
- Brian, who offered his service with much eagerness.
- Wei Ming (another one who surprises me with his help) who seemed to enjoy clearing the BBQ pit...hahah! :)
The gals from China who offered their help in one way or another when the BBQ fire seemed to fail us...
Lastly, not forgetting the Game Masters, who had spent so much time in preparing the wonderful games for all of us!! :)
They are namely,
- Shahir, whose calmness is admirable.
- Vivian, who is ever so helpful.
- Mac, who has the ability to command and give clear instructions.
- Simpson, who is always very ready for service.
- Jeremy, who is a good assistant to every leader.
- Amanda, who enjoys interacting with the others.
- Meiting, who does not mind playing the 2nd fiddle and able to handle situations with love and patience.
- Zong Hua, who tries his best in the tasks given.
- Kaiyi, who is learning the rope from the other leaders.
- Huifen, who prefers to lead the rest the quiet way.
- Yue Xi, who never fails to give sensible suggestions.
- And many others who have contributed in one way or another...!!!
You guys rox!!! :)
PS:
I must say that I am kinda disappointed with the male leaders...for not offering the service at the end of the BBQ... We really (I mean really really) appreciate it if the guys are able to stay back to help out with the mess.
Leadership is not just about managing the rest.
It's also about taking the initiative to do the 'dirty job'.
Leadership has to begin with the heart that yearns to serve...
Always in your service with love,
Ms Ang
